We are a great friendly group. Let's keep it that way.
Always support the Leader: Sometimes we don't agree, BUT, it is important to support your leader, especially when newcomers are in the group. You can always challenge a decision later in private. All members need to actively support their leader, and each other, in a respectful manner. Obviously if the decision could be harmful to anyone then this should be discussed, but with respect. Remember we are all volunteers. Leading a group isn't easy, especially when there are newcomers and all sort of admin jobs to do. We all make mistakes, and we all do things differently. We all say the wrong things sometimes too, or in the wrong tone. It's important to respect and care for each other regardless, just like in a family.
Parking - if a leader specifies an area to park it is the walkers sole responsibility if they park elsewhere. Leaders should always be mindful of the parking laws in Queensland and arrange a meeting spot that has no risk of an infringement. Parking on nature stips in built up areas is not permitted, fines can be applied. The rules (noted on 07June2023) www.qld.gov.au/transport/safety/fines/parking They state: "You are not allowed to park on a footpath, painted island, traffic island, bicycle path, shared path, dividing strip or a nature strip adjacent to a road in a built-up area unless a sign permits it."
Money
First come first served - only fair way is on a first come first served basis. For example, if single kayaks are limited, and this is the most popular option, the first on the list gets first choice. Then offers to swop halfway should be employed.
Leader decisions - all walkers need to follow the walk leader, regardless of what may have been agreed in a different discussion. Like the Captain of a ship or plane, the Leader oversees a walk.

Money
- If money is being collected to pay for an activity please have a list of all attendees and check the list as money is collected. Add a note if a walker is paying later by EFT. Keep the list.
- If a club activity involves paying an outside vendor, it is always best to organise members to book and pay for this themselves directly with the vendor. This isn't always possible, but it is preferable, even if the activity costs more this way.
- If collecting money, please ensure you mark "paid cash" or "eft" on the relevant form. It is very difficult to keep track of which person gave you money when lots of different things are happening at the beginning of a walk. Alternatively put your money in an envelope adding your name, date and what its for. New walkers will be asked to do this before they attend a walk.
